Claire originally came to Abacus in 2008 for assistance with her first born baby girl, who was struggling with feeding & sleep.  It was then that she was converted to the potential of Chiropractic.  Following the birth of her second daughter, she enrolled on the pathway course followed by the Masters degree in Chiropractic at McTimoney college of Chiropractic. Previously a Nursery Nurse of many years, she found Chiropractic exciting and fuelled her understanding of the human potential. Claire shadowed Deirdre Edwards in children’s clinics over 5 years, to ensure depth of learning. During her Chiropractic journey her third daughter arrived, completing her family. A well-adjusted little girl we say! She graduated with a Masters degree in Chiropractic from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in 2017, and became a member of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association (MCA). Since then she has undertaken postgraduate training with the Royal College of Chiropractors to further her knowledge. Claire brings an understanding of child development from her nursery nurse days, and has a special interest in providing chiropractic care for children, and women throughout pregnancy.

What to expect

The initial consultation includes taking a medical history, neurological and orthopaedic assessment, and treatment. The assessment will test nervous system function, movement, and balance appropriate to age.

The treatment includes gentle releases and parental guidelines to encourage on-going mobility, and natural movement.

Would I, as a Mum, benefit from Chiropractic care? 

Yes to encourage a healthy nervous, muscle and skeletal connection and correct alignment best for you and the growing baby. As the pregnancy progresses and your shape changes to accommodate the weight of the developing baby, posture is vital so that you may enjoy the pregnancy and preparation time.

In the postnatal period chiropractic care can help to assist optimum recovery to enjoy your precious baby.

Free parking outside the clinic or in adjacent roads.

All chiropractors at the clinic are registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC).

Clinic operating hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm.

Initial consultation: Babies & children: £77, Adults £65

Follow up appointments: £47 (Children and adults)
