Area: Leamington Spa
Following on from a career as a nurse I graduated from the British School of Homeopathy in the year 2000 and have been practicing as a full time homeopath ever since. During this time I have treated numerous women during their pregnancies and the post-natal period and subsequently their babies and other family members. I really enjoy working with women during this exciting time in their lives and assisting them with some of the difficulties encountered on the way. My aim is to help them relish and enjoy the changes it brings.
Homoeopathy is a holistic therapeutic system that approaches each patient as a unique individual. Homeopathic medicines – often referred to as ‘remedies’ – are made from specially prepared highly diluted substances given mainly in tablet or liquid form. Prescriptions are carefully tailored to each individual patient according to their specific symptoms. Homeopathic medicines are non-toxic making them safe to use in cases involving babies, children, pregnancy and breast feeding mothers, when the use of conventional medicines would be inadvisable.
Homeopathy can be of benefit:
- During pregnancy in conditions such as: fatigue, insomnia, nausea, vomiting, hyperemesis, indigestion, constipation, back pain, symphysis pubis dysfunction, carpal tunnel syndrome, swollen ankles, headaches, anxiety about giving birth and mood changes. Homeopathy can also be used for problems for which an alternative to conventional medicine would be wise, such as allergies or hay fever, or for pre-existing conditions when the use of conventional drugs would be contra-indicated.
- During labour often helping to speed delivery and reduce labour-related problems such as nausea, back pain, anxiety and exhaustion. I can give you advice on which medicines you may find useful and can loan you a selection of remedies for this purpose.
- In the post-natal period for the physical symptoms related to post-delivery healing, sore nipples etc. as well as emotional symptoms relating to the ‘baby blues’.
- As your child develops through managing and reducing the distress caused by the types of problems your baby may experience. These include colic, reflux, teething, coughs colds, chest and ear infections as well more chronic illnesses like eczema and asthma.
