Birthsteps Antenatal Classes

We are two focused and committed practising midwives. Disappointed by the recent announcement from the government to reduce the provision of antenatal education offered by the National Health Service, we have decided to create an alternative, this has led us to set up Birthsteps Antenatal Courses. Our unique midwife-led courses are aimed at preparing you for the birth and care of  your new baby as well as offering reassurance and essential information for a smooth transition from pregnancy to parenting.

We are both experienced midwives, educated to degree level, currently working in the hospital environment. As well as being mothers we have many years experience in all aspects of care, be it antenatal, labour and birth or the postnatal period. We are committed, dynamic and dedicated to the provision of birth and parenting courses that prepare you for the arrival of your first or subsequent child. We offer a very high standard of antenatal education tailored to suit your individual needs.

The basis of our courses are to help prepare you for the imminent life changing experience which you are about to undertake. Our aim is to enable you to take away information and strategies which will underpin your knowledge, allowing you to make evidence based informed choices about how and where you wish to have your baby.

We offer the following options:

Bespoke one-to-one session = approx 4 hours
Weekly 2hr evening sessions = 10 hours
Saturday only = 8 hours
Weekend break = 10 hours
