My name is Fay, and i am a Birth and Postnatal Doula supporting expectant and new parents in the Warwickshire area. I am a fully recognised member of Doula UK and certified with Nurturing Birth, and am experienced in supporting women having hospital, home and waterbirths. As a Birth Doula i can help you to prepare for the birth of your baby both physically and mentally by visiting you in your own home as often as you need. i will give you information to help you make informed decisions for your birth and I will fully support your choices. I offer 1-1 birth preparation sessions, breastfeeding preparation and birth plan design. Emotional support is a huge element of my role at this time of big changes, worries and fears, and for some women it is invaluable to de-brief previous birth experiences to someone they can trust. I will be available to attend you during your labour, either at home or hospital, and will be able to give reassurance to both parents that they have someone familiar with them at all times. It is accepted that a labouring woman who feels well supported will have a much more manageable and shorter labour, and partners will benefit knowing that they are also being supported. Inclusive I offer two postnatal visits, one shortly after the birth to see how you are getting on, and a final one to fully de-brief the birth and make sure you are happy and settled, You will of course have the option to continue with my postnatal care if you feel you need a little extra time and help. Postnatally i can help new parents adjust to life with their newborn, and can provide information on caring for their new baby, I can help support new mum with early days breastfeeding, and can help signpost new parents to other services as and when they may find them useful. This service is not only for first time mums, as often mothers with older children will need a bit more practical support around the house, not to mention a friendly ear! At all times i remain non-jugemental and non invasive in my role, as it is my passion to assist you to become empowered, confident and happy parents with a contented and happy family. Whatever service you employ me for, my aim at all times will be to give you the confidence to make empowered choices through information and support, which will make the transition to parenthood a more positive experience for both parents and baby alike. BIRTHING POOLS:- i have available to hire locally, two types of birth pool, both large rigid sided ones, one hexagonal, one oval. I can deliver, set up and collect. they come with the full hire kit, which includes hoses, liners, pumps and heatcovers etc.. There is a discount on the pool hire for couples using my doula services, but i do hire out independently as i am not always able to take on new birth clients if i am already booked for a birth due at the same time.
